DARE.TO.SHOOT
Are you feeling like your work is starting to look the same? Or worse, like everyone else's? That you haven't found your own voice? Do you have ideas for shoots but put them off because you don't think you have the space, equipment, or skills to pull them off?
That's where I was over a year ago; feeling like I was just another mom with a camera, even though I'd been shooting for well over a decade and long before I had kids. I was making excuses for why I wasn't actually doing any of the projects I'd been jotting down on my note pad for ages.
At the end of 2011 I had an epiphany and since then I've had my most personally fulfilling year as a photographer to date. I'm revived as an artist and photography is fun again!
My work has taken a dramatic leap and I've had a lot of people ask if they could come along on my personal shoots and see what I'm doing. Unfortunately I've always been scared to let anyone watch me work. I realize now that was just the same voice of fear that was suffocating me before. I've been afraid that people will find out I don't know everything about photography or have a large studio and expensive lighting gear. Then I realized that's what people want to know. How I create despite those limitations.
If you're interested in spending a day with me either watching me do a project from beginning to end or having me help you develop your idea from concept to final art piece, (maybe you just want help with lighting, editing or some other artistic aspect) shoot me an email and we'll chat about a playdate!
I want to help you DARE.TO.SHOOT too!
